Technology

The Evidence Layer connects everything.

The core software receives a deliberate trigger, timestamps the incident, helps preserve relevant records and organises them into a clearer Evidence Timeline.

The implementation is still evolving, but the product logic stays simple: different inputs, one trusted incident workflow.

The core software

The wearable is not the whole company.

The wearable, phone tools and Site Mode are different entry points into the same core: the Peoples Defence Evidence Layer.

What exists in the prototype direction

Evidence integrity and event organisation.

Timestamped events

The software direction is built around giving incident events a clear time and sequence.

Hash-chain integrity

Prototype work includes cryptographic hashing so evidence changes can be detected rather than silently ignored.

Incident Timeline

Media, triggers and relevant events can be organised into one clearer incident view.

Current technical stack

Built to be testable before it is perfect.

Current prototype work has included a FastAPI backend, database/event handling, real-time WebSocket workflows and a web dashboard. These are engineering implementation choices, not promises that the final production architecture is frozen.

Important: the public goal is evidence clarity and integrity. Technical implementation will continue to change as security, privacy, pilots and deployment requirements are validated.

Why one layer matters

New hardware does not require a new company every time.

If the Evidence Layer is the centre, the company can support a wearable today, a phone trigger during testing, connected site cameras for organisations, and later Peoples Defence-ready hardware without fragmenting the experience into unrelated products.
